Veneers
Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain or plastic placed over the front teeth to change the color or shape of your teeth. Veneers are used on teeth with uneven surfaces or are chipped, discolored, oddly shaped, unevenly spaced or crooked. Little or no anesthesia is needed. Veneers are used to treat some of the same problems as bonding. Veneers have a longer life expectancy and colour stability than bonding. Veneers are often a better alternative to crowns, which are more expensive. The need for veneers has been reduced somewhat due to the increased use of whitening and bonding.
- Whitening: Some people get their teeth whitened to get rid of stains, while others just want a whiter shade.
- Bonding: When teeth are chipped or slightly decayed, bonded composite resins may be the material of choice. Bonding will often give an excellent result at a lower cost than veneers or crowns
- Crowns/caps: Crowns are used in cases where other procedures will not be effective. Crowns have the longest life expectancy of all cosmetic restorations, but are the most time-consuming.
- Implants/Bridges/Dentures: These are the ways we use to restore missing teeth.
